How to Configure AT&T Email Account On iPhone?

If you have recently got your AT&T Email account, apart from accessing it through a web browser, you can also get access to it using your iPhone Mail application. However, to access your AT&T email account on iPhone, you may have to configure it using the AT&T email server settings when the automatic configuration process doesn’t help you. Automatic Configuration Process

If you have recently upgraded to the AT&T powered by Yahoo! homepage and you had set up your AT&T email account before you upgraded, you can follow the steps provided below to re-create the account with new settings. After configuring the new account, make sure that the new account is functioning, and only then delete the old account.

  1. Go to the applications’ menu on your iPhone and select the Settings app. You will be taken to the settings section of your iPhone.
  2. Next, under the Settings section, select the Mail option.
  3. Then, tap on the Accounts option and select Add Account option.
  4. After that, from the list of email services displayed on your screen, select the Yahoo! option.
  5. Now, you will need to enter your email address and select the Next option.
  6. After that, enter your password and press the Next button.
  7. You can then select the information you wish to download to your phone by tapping the sliders next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars, or Notes option, and finally, press the Save button.
  8. Finally, you can access your AT&T email account information using your iPhone.

Manual Configuration Process

  1. From the applications’ menu of your iPhone, open the Settings menu.
  2. Next, you will need to select the “Password and Accounts” option and tap on the Add Accounts option.
  3. Then, find the provider name (AT&T) from the list of email services that appear on your screen. In case you can’t find an option for AT&T in the list, select the “Others” option.
  4. On the next screen, select the Add Mail Account option and enter the following details:
    1. Name: Enter the desired name
    1. Email: Enter your AT&T email address
    1. Password: AT&T email password
    1. Description: Write a short description
  5. Now, in the IMAP section, enter the following details under the Incoming Mail Server section.
  6. Hostname:
  7. Username: Enter your AT&T email address
  8. Password: Enter your AT&T email password
  9. Next, in the “Outgoing mail server”, you will need to enter the following details in the relevant fields on your screen:

  11. Username: Enter your AT&T email address
  12. Password: Enter your AT&T email password
  13. Then, press the Next button and check the Email option before selecting the Save button. Your AT&T email will be saved on your iPhone.
  14. To make sure if the settings are correct or not, click on the email address you have added and go to the “Advanced” section. Now, under the Incoming Server section, check the following settings on your screen.

  16. Identity Check: Password
  17. Server Port: 993
  18. After that, return to the previous screen and go to the “Outgoing Server” section. Here, click or tap on the and make sure that the information provided below matches the one displayed on your screen:

  21. Server Port: 465
  22. Once you are done following the above-mentioned steps, press the Done option and restart your iPhone. Doing so will make all the new settings effective. You will now be able to access the AT&T email account on your iPhone to send and receive emails.

To Access Email Settings

To Change Your Email Signature

  • Select the Signature option from the Mail screen by scrolling down.
  • Next, edit Signature as required and then press the Back icon to save the changes made.

NOTE: These options may vary depending on the configured account types.

To Change the Email Synchronization Frequency

  • Select the Accounts option from the Mail screen.
  • Next, select the Fetch New Data option.
  • Then, choose the AT&T account and set the required sync frequency schedule settings.
  • After that, press the Back icon to save the changes made.

To Delete the AT&T Mail Account

  • Go to the Accounts screen and select the AT&T email account.
  • Next, press the Delete Account option and select the Delete from My iPhone option.

NOTE: The above-mentioned steps are applicable for iPhone 11. The steps may vary depending on the iPhone version you are using.
